Este filme conta a história de Don Jon, um grande sedutor que só dava importância a poucas coisas na vida: à igreja, à família, aos amigos, às mulheres, e aos filmes porno.

Don tinha como costume sair todas as noites com os amigos, e voltar para casa cada noite com uma mulher diferente. Até ao dia em que conheceu Barbara uma linda mulher, mas mais tarde acaba por ficar solteiro pois o seu vício de assistir filmes porno não agrada a Barbara.

Na escola ele acaba por conhecer uma mulher mais velha do que ele, Esther, uma mulher que perdera o filhe e o marido em um acidente de carro, vai ser aquela que vai fazer com que Don goste mais de sexo do que filmes porno.
