Este filme conta a história de Columbus, um rapaz solitário e com várias fobias.

Para conseguir viver num mundo em que existem mais zombies do que pessoas, ele tem uma lista de regras para cumprir. Durante a sua viagem conhece Woody, um homem corajoso, e pede-lhe boleia.

Mais tarde conhecem as irmãs Wichita e Little Rock, que lhes roubam o carro e as armas. Mas todos acabam por se voltar a encontrar e vêm-se obrigados a ficarem juntos para conseguirem proteger-se.
