Este filme conta a história real de Liberace, um pianista famoso que era secretamente homossexual. Ele era conhecido por se apaixonar facilmente por rapazes mais jovens que ele.

A partir do momento que Liberace conhece Scott Thorson fica deslumbrado, com a sua inocência e história de vida, decide então fazer um acordo com ele, o qual Scott aceita.

Começam então a morar juntos e passado alguns anos Scott começa a desconfiar da fidelidade de Liberace, o que faz com que a relação de ambos se venha a degradar dia após dia.
